Installing software on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 64-bit computer

GolfSoftware.com's CD's contain a menu program which does not currently run on Windows Vista or Windows 7 computers. However, our 2007 version and newer software - League Manager, Tournament Manager and Handicap System - do run on Vista and Windows 7. We have many customers running earlier versions of our software on Vista, but we do not support those earlier versions running on Vista or Windows 7.

You have two methods to install a GolfSoftware.com program on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 computer:
  1. Download and install from GolfSoftware.com (please be sure to install the version that you for which you have a license)
  2. Use the work around and install using your CD (see below)
If your software version is older than versions introduced in 2007, and it does not run on Vista or Windows 7 after using one of the two methods above to install, your remaining option is to upgrade to the current version of your software.

Solution for bypassing the CD (menu program) not running:

Note: the images may look more like Vista than Windows
  1. Insert your GolfSoftware.com CD.
  2. Click on the Start button at the lower left corner of your monitor screen.
  3. Select "My Computer"
  4. Double click on the CD/DVD drive into which you inserted the GolfSoftare.com CD
  5. You will now see the following:

  6. Click on the folder in the left-side window called "LMSETUP" for League Manager, "HSSETUP" for Handicap System, or "TMSETUP" for Tournament Manager. You will now see the "SETUP.EXE" file for the appropriate program on the right-side window. See images below:

  7. Double-click on the "SETUP.EXE" icon (you may be using a different "View; double-click on the file name).
  8. Windows Vista will display a "User Account Control" window stating "An unidentified program wants access to your computer." Click on "Allow."
  9. You will now see the installation wizard window as below (it may say League Manager or Handicap System instead):

  10. Click on the Next button and follow the prompts.

Alternatively, you can download and install the software from our website. Please send an email with your request to tech@golfsoftware.com along with your Customer Number and other identifying information.
